BRUNETTI is a famous coffee joint in Melbourne and we are so glad they have came to Singapore!
Less than a month being back, we had the same gang meet up right in Brunetti again but of course it gotta be in Tanglin Singapore.
So SPOT the differences in BRUNETTI Melbourne Australia's Carlton branch and Singapore's one and only Tanglin branch

Though the coffee joint is touted as an icon in Australia, Brunetti is as Italian as it gets.
The pasticceria and coffee bar, after all, was founded by Giorgio Angele, a Rome native who first came to Australia in 1956 as a pastry chef with the Italian Olympics team.
Angele stayed on and opened a little cake shop on Melbourne's Faraday Street in the 1980s, which has since sprung up five outlets across Melbourne.

Sunday – Thursday (6am – 11pm) / Friday – Saturday (6am – Midnight)
It was like around 10am in the morning and we have all the luxury to sit whereever we want.
Probably cos it was a weekday.
Design is sleek and sophisticated in fact like modern french.
The shop is huge since it occupies five adjoining shopfronts at this location.
Area of sweet and savoury have been well separated in big area.

I am at the sweet section...
(The rest of the 30% of sweet section)
And this is the long walkway of the savoury section...
Not a sweet tongue myself but the pastries galore were all staring out at me looking so tempting.
Yummy pictures need no further explanation.
Marcons!
Gummies are probably the best sweet stuff I desired!
Got ourselves settled in this big area for breakfast that we could oversee the outdoor too.
Breakfast in Brunetti without coffee is such a waste...
Don't the coffees looking yummy too?
That was 2 of our breakfast that I love the taste...
I was eating so much eggs during the aussie trips haha
More will be posted separate for the Melbourne trip :)
And the Barbie cake not necessary meant for a 6-year-old kiddo.
We were standing there admiring the beautiful craft for a long while...
However while preparing for this post, I learnt of a bad news :(
This iconic Brunetti at Carlton (this one) we went will be closing after 27 years in coming Sept and moving to another location in Carlton area,
Carlton institution Brunetti, is moving shop to where it began
IT WILL be the end of an era in Faraday Street, Carlton with the owner and occupant of a retail institution agreeing to conclude their, at times, tumultuous relationship.
In about four months, popular cafe and cake shop Brunetti will relocate from its 27-year home at 194-204 Faraday Street to another historic Carlton property at 380 Lygon Street - which was coincidentally the birthplace of the business in 1974.
Five years ago, Brunetti chief executive Fabio Angele (pictured) and the Faraday Street building owner, Pauline Halperin, were locked in a rental dispute eventually decided by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal in favour of the tenant.

Design is quite similar to the one in Melbourne, except that the store was much much smaller...
Dessert spread was decent but not as attractive variety like Australia.
Being such a small shop, it is easily crowded especially for a Sunday!
When we got there, we were a little disappointed as it was so crowded and needed 15-20 minutes to wait for a seat that fits our group size. There were outdoor seats though.
Got a price list from the web - posted here for references.
In comparison most prices are about the same as Australia but some prices were more steep than the aussie ones.
Besides a range of cakes and pastries, Brunetti at Tanglin Mall also serves breakfast and eggs like eggs benedict ($12.90) and truffled scrambled eggs ($11.9); and savoury food like spaghetti Bolognaise ($17.9) and fillet of fish ($18.9).
So happy to get our seat after the long wait.
We did some light lunches for sharing and of course coffess!
I forgot pictures about food.
I got a baked macaroni with cheese ($17.90) which was good but really really full to eat myself.
XL came back from NY for work and brought us sweet fragrances from Victoria Secret.
The meet up came with a main task to compile all the Melbournes pictures from all our different cameras.
And I realised it was quite a tedious and time consuming task as some cameras were set with really high res and needed to be edited by batch...woooo
Oh yes, Apparel for the day
and love the lovely colour and material of my new shorts H&M from HK! .
I got a new haircut finally too ... :)
I was not really sure much about most of their desserts but had chance to taste from sharing some cakes and savoury items during our breakfast time in Melbourne.
The cakes were not bad, didn't work that much for me thou.
I think it really looking better than the tastes.
However I became big fan of their savoury breakfast.
It is still worth a visit to Brunetti SIN, although much tinier and lesser variety, still maintaining their original sleek atmoshere and good foods and coffee!
If you want to relax properly, then better not hop there in weekends or PH or Xmas time..
I am Keen to try out their Marcons and Egg Benedict next!!
Talking about Egg Benedicts.....Keppel Bay serves great breakfast too!
Love their caesar salad with poached egg and egg benedict!
Will try to post for recommendations...!
