Bark Cafe - a Lunch next to Changi Prison

Been brought to Bark Cafe for lunch at Changi Prison just yesterday (Thu)

It was more than I expected.

Wide space, high fence.
feels alittle overwhelmed initially.

Just right besides the Changi Prison and tucking into one quiet corner,
here is the entrance of Bark Cafe.

Hiding away their lunch crowd that we didnt expect to see.

The restaurant is open air but sheltered filled with mainly outdoor furniture.
For such hot weather like this day, I find they are armed with big to small fans around to cool you down.

There was a good mix of western including spaghetti and local dishes like fried rice etc.

As much as it sounds like a place for dogs, The Bark Cafe definitely does not serve up chow for your mutt.
Seafood Alio Olio - $17.90
It was yummy with lotsa garlic and seafood serving was quite generous for such price. Seafood tasted reasonable too but I felt i was slight dry.

Trying a safe cafe recommendation
Battered Fish and chips $16.90

It taste quite satisfying except it took 20-30 minutes on the wait (longer than Alio Olio) and the batter was slightly too thick for me. Fish serving was qte ok, fries could have been more generous.

A gourmet coffee to end with.

The most interesting part is 'the place of interest' besides is better and more meaningful than dessert.

The little chapel and small museum right beside it.

Although this little enclave tucked away in Changi, it is not a somewhere without crowd.
So it is not a secret anymore, I guess.

The food is yummy for a cafe steering towards upmarke. Hence the slightly upmarket prices for cafe food. I must say the fries were one of the good ones.

You realize when you are there that it is worthwhile getting away from the town areas every so often for that sense of peace and generally slowed down vibe that it offers.

Mmm indeed it is a great hidout from town to chill with friends over beers and food in the idyllic nature around Changi.

I had a really happy lunch cos its just more than a eating or lunch place.
I would want to visit again bringing more of friends and family here who haven't been to this great hideout yet!

Pop by when u are down to east :)
