Finally has sometime to upload the 2nd day in Melbourne.
Warning : It is a long post flooded with photos cos we love the farm so much & I love to remember travel in detail!
Rise & Shine for the next day!
Self made Breakfast!!
Macka made it easy with toaster, stove, pots, pans, untensils all well equiped!
That's our sleepy breakfast faces...
We are going simple for our meal the 2nd day cos you have go miles to get to a nearest town. So we had bought whatever we wanted the previous night.
I had egg & ham sandwich made with love from the dear girls!
Our lodge alfresco area that we hardly came out to cos it was super windy and cold most of the time facing the sea direction.
But we made a point to illustrate the beauty and enjoyment of having breakfast & hot Coffee outdoor facing the green, breeze with superb fresh air! Just judge from the relaxing grins..
(To be frank, it was so chilly we dashed in door after sitting for 5 minutes. hahahaa)
Weather was rather gloomy when we came out to take a peep of our new day.
But we simply love the red wood area right at our door step, almost tricked our mind thinking it is autumn already.
Finally an official tour around the farm with introduction from our nice Trudy, or Mrs Macka
Ok u have to stand the smell and u will get used to it in a while :)
The uber cute bunny!! It will stand up n look at you if it sees u.
The baby feeding from its mummy cow.
Don't the Calf looking small and cute?
I love brown colour too!
The plain brown at the right hand side look so much like a deer, Bambi? haha.
These calf are still younger and need to be fed from bottles.
They really sucked so hard that you have to hold on tight hahaa... so cute, so hungry.
These calf are old enough to drink their milk by their own directly from the pails.
It is forever not enough.
After they had finished, few of them were busy licking each other's mouth hahaa
A group pose with Trudy.
Understand from Trudy that this is one kind of Llama family.
Is either you will like how he looks or scared of him cos the way he stare feels little like human somehow.
But he is actually very shy.
Baa Baa White sheeps snatching for food.
Understand from Trudy that sheeps (at least these few ones here) are pretty stupid animals in real.
When they are hungry, they will bother you for food by knocking into the fences and making sheepily noise haha.
After they are filled, they keep quiet and just do their stuff.
Ducks and chickens need no intro ya?
In the farm, Little Enru feeling so happy everytime. I didnt see her cry once here.
Seeing all greenery, wide lands and fresh air turns good mood and smiles too!
Finally, feeding the 2 little ponies...
The bigger one is the mummy and smaller one is the son :)
Trudy was giving them apples here... Nice!
The mummy can be quite aggressive when it comes to eating....
Food can make her turn really fierce even if it is her son....rather crazy..
The little son is much more demure, gentle n shy in reverse.
He doesnt fight for food with his mother.
In less than 15 mins of drive...here we are!
Thanks to the farm that is really near Great Ocean.
Omg....It is looking sooo beautiful and the weather was cooperating so well making everything seem like a picture perfect.
And the endless strong wind make us looking really kisiao....if you have long hair.
Going alittle deeper and higher...
Finally we got someone to take a very memorable photo for us all :)
You wun see this same scene in future again probably.
Weather was really great to match our great ocean day heee..
In few minutes' drive, we creeped into another part of the wild by the ocean...
Equally windy here and very sunny!
After all these walkings, sightseeing and consistent strong wind blowing...we were all hungry!
As planned, we drove over to Port Campbell Foreshore, alittle town here and
there said to be a shop that sells good food and fish and chips...
YEAH!
12 Rocks Cafe and Bar
Port Campbell
19 Lord St
Suggested a group picture before we get messy from what our hunger can do.
We ordered fried fish and chips .... Nice!
Vegan burger is for our vege friend :)
And here is the bake fish and chips...
You can tell the big serving now when we hold it ya.
As we were too hungry...
We need a full carbo meal to fill us up..... Alio Oligo. Was not bad too.
Not forgetting the sweet tooth friends need their dessert to complete the stomach filling process.
This is good too :) Yum
After the full meal, we went around and taking pictures before we get back into the car too full.
As planned, we went to a strawberry farm but only to find that it is closed as they only open to public in seasons. The last we missed was early spring but we are in later spring by now.
Too bad!
So remember to do your homework well!
A surprise find o Timboon golf when we almost turning away. It was right opposite of the farm.
But it was very quiet. I am sure golfers get to relax here well.
A 9 holes walking course.
The worse came...
As planned we are supposed to visit Timboon Distillery too for their alcoholic friend, ME haha.
And i think they closed 4+pm (so early!).
We were late by half an hour. There were still few customers seem lingering but must be moving out soon :(
Inside was nice, but there was no chance to take photo since the staff inside werent so friendly.
Pop to a nearby supermarket in the same town and
I saw my world lighting up! ahhaha
Welcome to the place of happiness!
And in such low prices I can definately drink double the dosage without hurting my pocket a bit!
In a good price, you could get a reasonably good wine!
My pick!
A super cheap wine costing only A$6 (promo price)
We head back and the driver of the day continue...
They were making me laugh to keep me awake hahaa
Look our little enru was bashed hahaa
The sun dun always shine your direction...
And I was still driving....
This night is rather sway. Bad things do happen.
We lost my way back cos the GPS was not having good mood and led us to a wrong way. Definately not my fault cos we always have navigator beside to ensure driver is on the right track.
It almost led me into the highway to city!! So scary.
We had to stopped at the road side to re-key in the gps and let it re-calculate.
Trust me I am a fast driver :p I was between 90-130 when the sun is up ...
But night falls as early as 5.30pm and it was total pitch dark, I have to constantly on High beam and dip again when there is opposite car and regulate my speed for safety the passengers are not in panic.
It should only take us about less than an hour's drive back.
But this night I drove for 2 hours to get back! We didnt manage to eat dinner at the Timboon Distillery, we were so hungry and need the loo badly.
Look at my face when the sun is dipping...Think there was some rain too
It was a scary experience.
But we were so thrilled when we finally got back!!
Farm sweet Farm!
Everyone fought for the toilet once touched down ahha.
And waste no time, we prepare our dinner with our instant mee hoon and things we just bought again from the TimBoon supermarket.
Ya ya delicious.
What else can you complain when situation got so desperate...
Feel so good to be 'home' and eating :)
A happy ending photo hahaa :)
Some do the dishes, clean up and some start to bath, and some waiting unpatiently for the toilet hahaa
We started Jacob's Creek Mascato to resume our calm after the dinner...
And we started to talk about the whole lost the way incident again hahaa
And we started to talk about the whole lost the way incident again hahaa
Lesson 1 :
It is really difficult to tell if you lost the way at such pitch dark environment and been not familar with the place yet, be blessed you are not knocking into a tree.
But try to remember some surrounding area names or if there is some landmarks like cheese farm in a few km aways from you accomodation or so, if you didnt see all these in anticipated time, I guess it is safer to stop by the side with hazard lights and re-do your GPS in case you get into deeper shit.
Lesson 2 :
Check all the planned places in details with the entry times or seasonal closure etc....to avoid more disappointments.
To me, as long as everyone is safe and happy :) It is ok to me if we missed out a few itineraries.
We are out here for happiness aren't we ? :)
