Almost a forgotten chill.
Back in June 2012, an urge for a impromptu chill.
A place so near yet so far cos I always didn't think of it till it is been suggested again.
I am keen of course as mum's place is sooo near and it is a brand new Jewel box.
The last I went was 2009 Dec with cold joke!
Then Jewel Box or Moonstone went through some revamp due to the new cable car project.
While searching thru the blog, realised we did few rounds of Moonstone outings which I managed to blog.

There probably has a wedding ceremony right before our arrival.
The sleek open air area greeted us.
Except the washroom, it changed quite abit that I almost forgotten it is the former Altivo Bar right here where I was standing.
But Altivo Bar was closed down 4-5years years back?
After checking, realised this is the new SAPPHIRE of Jewel Box

The Koi pond is more or less the same near the washroom.

Cool air breezing towards you while relaxing in the new sleek area with cozy down lights really make you feel good and wanna stay longer catching up with friends.

However we are still after the point we want to move to -
MOONSTONE..
The new cable cars are equally charming like its Jewel Box home especially when night falls.
While we were on our way to Moonstone, spotted the row of ANGRY BIRD cable cars hiding in this area!
So cute!
These are old cable cars, only meant for artwork & display.
It was such fun climbing in too hahaa guess it was not allowed as the door cannot be opened...
They even imitated the boxes.... cool

finally...
Understand that it has just been leased to a Japanese restaurant tenant and Moonstone has became an 'Izakaya' kinda place.
An izakaya (居酒屋) is a type of Japanese drinking establishment which also serves food to accompany the drinks. They are casual places for after-work drinking.
oh of course I love it now too it has turned slightly more upmarket with brand new sleek design and furnishing. But it is kinda more exposed now, you can feel closer to the nature and good view.
There were not many people at such time like 9+pm probably because Moonstone only just newly opened and not been widely publicised yet.

And spotted the Angry bird cable car (red light) in real action??
Its still alittle weird to think a home grown bar and landmark has turned Japanese.
No matter what, we will just sync accordingly with the 'Shochu'
Shochu is a Japanese clear distilled spirit similar to vodka. The main difference between sake and shochu is sake (or "nihon-shu" in Japanese) is brewed, whereas shochu is distilled.
Health conscious consumers prefer shochu than other types of beverage alcohol because of its low calories. (about 15 - 20 cal. per ounce)
I prefer sake to shochu actually.
Some snacks to go along to make the shochu taste better..... (excuse) :p
Soaking in enchanting scenery, almost every drink turns better...
Life seems to slow down looking out at those familar landmarks and lights turned stars in a miniture version.
It is only one of those times you feel that life is not that overwhelming as we seem bigger now.
In the end of the night, we ate more than we should with one more plate of fries ...haha
The snacks were so so and price is similar to those bars at orchard area.
But guess the investment is worthy if you get to buy more peaceful time with beautiful breezy view than some popular but rowdy bars e.g. at emerald area.
