(This is the exact seat where we were seating!)
LANTERN is a stylish rooftop bar and pool with enthralling panoramic views of the Marina Bay waterfront and the world-famous Singapore skyline. Located on the rooftop, this urban oasis with breathtaking views of the Lion City, is the coveted destination for the sophisticated chic where one can relish delectable gourmet snacks and tantalising grilled meats, accompanied with fine champagnes, signature cocktails, wines and beverages.

“Lantern derives its name from Clifford Pier’s historical Chinese name - “Red Lantern Pier”. It was a landing point for Singapore’s first immigrants and red lanterns used to hang from the pier as a guide to seafarers.”

Catching up in Ivy League

Glassy: The new Yale building is timed to open in 2013. Elite business schools are locked in an 'arms race' of building bigger and more elaborate business campuses to recruit the best students and faculty

Yale plays catch-up in Ivy League edifice race

It's planning a glittering US$180 million structure designed by Lord Norman Foster, who built London's 'Gherkin' tower

(NEW YORK) YALE University's School of Management, which aspires to be among the world's best business schools, crams its students and faculty into 19th century homes and former astronomy buildings linked by a rabbit-warren of basements.

That's a far cry from Harvard Business School's 33-building riverfront campus, which boasts a chapel, health club and its own art collection.

To help catch up, Yale is planning a glittering US$180 million structure designed by Lord Norman Foster, who built London's 'Gherkin' tower. The new building, scheduled to open in 2013, will help the school keep pace with its rivals, said dean Sharon Oster.
(blah blah blah...)
New buildings mean more office space for faculty and more classrooms for profitable executive education programmes. Larger schools can also enrol more students, who pay as much as US$80,000 per year in tuition, room and board and other expenses.
(blah blah blah...)
The high cost of attendance contributes to students' rising expectations - and the growing size and complexity of the new facilities, said Jonathan Levav, an associate professor at Columbia. Two years at Columbia Business School costs an estimated US$168,307 for tuition, room and board and other expenses.

'Graduates of business and law schools are often the wealthiest alumni. It is easy to raise the funds to build buildings from donors to those schools.'

- Cornell University professor Ronald Ehrenberg

So what is Ivy League?

The Ivy League is an athletic conference comprising eight private institutions of higher education in the Northeastern United States. The term is most commonly used to refer to those eight schools considered as a group. The eight institutions are Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University.

The term also has connotations of academic excellence, selectivity in admissions, and social elitism

The use of the phrase is no longer limited to athletics, and now represents an educational philosophy inherent to the nation's oldest schools. In addition, Ivy League schools are often viewed by the public as some of the most prestigious universities worldwide and are often ranked amongst the best universities in the United States and worldwide.

Ivy League university financial endowments range from Brown's $2.01 billion to Harvard's $26 billion, the largest financial endowment of any academic institution in the world.

THE NEXT DAY (30/5)
Disneyland

Photobucket

Ok I think it should be also about 10 years since I last came here....
Photobucket
To me, Tokyo Disneyland always feel like a kiddo place OR a romantic place where the bf must bring the gf here haha. At least thats what japanese are thinking.
.
So I tot I could get quite bored after a while in this kiddo place since no bf here too.
Surprisingly I enjoyed! hahaa
Heart of kiddy is in ME ... :) heee

Photobucket
See our excited face?
We are all big kids hahaa...
Photobucket

Photobucket
The thing about Tokyo Disneyland...everything seems so well done (fm big to the smallest detail), so perfect here, even the assistants around are so cheerful, so eagar to help & so polite!
Photobucket
capable of finding fun in every little thing woooo.......
Photobucket
Age decrease in here....
Photobucket
Did mention about the frightening experience???
.
I was too happy and engrossed in shopping in disneyland, the careless me left my wallet in one of the cashier counter unknowingly! And I got this very bad habit of leaving my sling pouch bag open for my convenience.
.
So when i realised the wallet is gone! It probably had been like 15-30mins since it was gone.
I dropped my shopping basket with the squeeze of my heart....
I almost cried cos it was only like the 2nd day of sightseeing...means i shld still have majority of travel fund in there :( Imagine all cards gone too ?? I will be penniless on the 3rd day!!
.
I went back to try my luck at the cashier counter where i last paid unless i dropped it somewhere :(
.
OMG!!
The assistant seemed to response with an idea of my pink wallet! My Japanese came out in funny pieces when panic ahaha.. And she finally brought out MY WALLET after some search in their lost and found! I just need to fill up some forms & ans some of her questions to claim it!
.
This is one thing I like about Japan, most of them are honest and not greedy for such cases.....
But i cant take for granted, i have to be really careful no matter where I am.
++++++++++++++++++
.
After all the scares, i bought more things from Disneyland in case i really lost my wallet ahaa

Photobucket
Then its shabu shabu dinner....
The beef was really fresh.... yum
Photobucket
.
The guys were not hungry but they cant resist when they spotted this push cart ramen
right at our hotel area, Ikebukuro... hahaa
Photobucket
So i joined in and tried....
not so nice actually....but its like a must to try if you spot such old mobile store ya.
Photobucket
.
We shared the big room at Sunshine Prince Ikebukuro.
Its really big for a hotel in Tokyo..
Photobucket
Photobucket
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
.
THE NEXT DAY
Went to my headquarter as an unplanned schedule :)
The new building is really big and so much like those in Japanese drama office :p
Photobucket

Our group must be rich!
But i bought a Paul Smith keypouch here which is worth and cool!
Photobucket

Photobucket
Its lunch time.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Leave Ginza for Shibuya :)
Photobucket
Shibuya is always so young & crowded...

Photobucket
The dinner was hosted by a Japanese partner at
Esquire Club, a pte club
.
Feel likes Izakaya type of food where there are many small dishes of snacks.
Not so full to get you ready for endless drinks ;p
Photobucket
.
*******************************************************************
.
THE NEXT DAY - BACK TO SIN
