Amour De Paris
Day 8 - 9 (14-15 May)
DAY 8 : MORNING
Freshly made rice paper roll wrap with vietnamese ham
One thing I cant understand is how can they eat with such short gap btw breakfast and lunch. We rested for a short while and in no time we head out for lunch err again...
And I am always amazed abt their super parking skill...
This Teochew noodles is really really nice......
I probably has nv have eaten this taste before...sure will miss chinese food in Paris.
This day we head off ourselves as per our request....juz hang around with no specific plan to have our relax last last day. hee..
Somehow we are back to Effiel Tower, thinking of going up.
On the way reaching, cuz they had urgent need to visit washroom. Stopped over and well it was a long Q at this outdoor auto washroom.
While waiting for them, peeping at how good the artists there made their living.
So and while still waiting...one approached me promising it would only take 10 mins for abt 15 euro....so i took the deal...hhaa
Ok it was a bad deal as Cuz and myself cant recongise who the person is in the drawing.
Finally the toilet door is juz right at their door step...
San got herself a new cam for this trip but how come its me who is demostrating to them how to do good self pics with their new cam.
.
Below is San's version of a handsome french guy
Oh the gorilla was trying to catch me when i stood on the bench for photo but i siam fast fortunately. So be aware of such 'clown' around such hot tourist spot as they will collect money from you after you seemed happy with their performance.
Ice cream taste extra good with effiel tower right at the top of my head.
.
Out of curiousity we went to the other Galeries Lafayette, but only to be disappointed.
As consolation, we got some coconut muffins...nice.
We head back to the 'real' Galeries Lafayette at Opera area.
But well as you know European close shop as early as 6-7pm so we didnt left with much time for real shopping.
.
Oh ya anyway quite a few items were sold out at Chanel...including the necklace and this one handbag that i was trying to ask.
.
There is no individual 'shop' for Balenciaga...I was still looking out for a long time then only upon asking, we found the small outlet here. Poor thing..
I think French dun specially like Balenciaga like us...They seemed be big supporter of their own brands like Chanel, Longchamp, etc & a few more own french brands I cant recall .
I understand from the cuz that Alex (the newly wed groom)'s relative works in company of Balenciaga so they could get qte a good discount but they do not really fancy much of it.
The supermarket close abit later so we tour around after the apparel sections closed.
Opera area closed earlier.
We had to adjust plan to move over to another station to grab our dinner.
I think we alighted at Chatelet station and randomly popped into one Western restaurant. We agreed not to have french food ahhaa :) I missed western & Italian food.
Lovely isnt it so...
Glad that their servers were friendly and can speak English well, oh did i mention one was pretty humourous too. :)
You know why i get fatter from Paris ya Wooo big serving..
Chips were good :)
Our foods in all....
It was already 8+pm so we tried not to eat too much before bedtime. well it was not so little actually too..
We done with our dinner and saw these likely 100s of night skaters passed by. Probably for some event...
This must be one thing that many travellers hate....packing luggages to go back... :( Look at the stuff I am gtg to bring back....All are mine!
.
All cuz specially came back for our last gathering in Paris....cos today is the departure day.
Love this place that always filled with sunshine for parties & gatherings.
The last time I will be seeing such scene till we are back to Paris....
Our way to airport...
Oh remember to go to airport earlier if you have receipts to submit at the duty free counter Its can be damn long Q..........
** SUBMIT TO THE DUTY FREE COUNTER BEFORE CHECK IN!
** REMEMBER TRY NOT TO KEEP all your purchased items in luggage as they might make you show them the things you purchased especially bigger value like a watch, bag etc according to the receipts you submitting to them.
With alittle bit of time, we went to grab some more magazines, happen to see Playboy...err mosaic it in case Blogger blocks me haha.
Finally come to end of blog on Paris...
Paris does not exactly match the initial tot. But Paris is indeed a relax, beautiful and romantic place in general. I am glad to have also seen the other side of what lies behind the beauty too. It is not as dreamy and neat as i thought. But the people who grew up in France have very unique thinking and love their country, their culture....
did i miss this? They are naturally romantic too :)
As for moving around as a tourist, I can understand how the Metro goes. It is not too difficult to navigate around after awhile even if you cant understand French.
Limited french that I speak now are: Merci (Thank you) / Oui (Yes) / Bonjour (greeting) / Sortie (exit) ....hahaa...
I will be back :)
